Orange Day/ Pumpkins

We had our orange day as well as exploring inside of a pumpkin.
Color Days are always a lot of fun! I love having the whole class participate in wearing the same color and finding things at home that can go on our orange circle.

We also had a lot fun discovering pumpkins. The kids got to put their hands inside the pumpkin and feel what it feels like as well learn how they grow. It was a lot of fun!

New Homework

We are trying something with our homework policy.
Inside each of the kid's homework folders (on the "LEFT" at home pocket) there is a calendar stapled to the folder. Each day they do not go to school there is something to do at home. When you complete it just initial and return. Each time a child completes it they get a stick to earn a prize in the treasure box.

I hope everyone likes it!!!

Circle Day!

We had our first circle day this week on Wednesday and Thursday. Everybody did such a great job turning their circle into something. We all balls from tennis, baseball, and basketballs, as well as balloons, eyeballs, icecream, and the list goes on and on. It was so good for the kids to be able to think about things that come in the shape of a circle and not just see the shape.

Group Books

Every couple of weeks we will be having a Group book. This week's book is "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom".
Group books help the kids identify the front and back cover, the title page, an author, and an illustrater. It also helps them learn to turn the pages the correct way and to follow along.

C is for Candyland!

This week we have hit the letter C!
We are having a lot of fun with Candyland :0)

Who took the Candy from the Candy Jar?

This was a really fun game today!
Each child was given a letter necklace, and this was their new "Name". Then we pulled out a piece of candy in the candy jar that has a letter on it.The child who pulled it identifies the letter then we all say,
"Who took the candy from the Candy jar?"
"H (or the letter that was picked) took the candy from the Candy jar"
H: "who Me?"
class: "yes you!"
H: "Couldn't be"
Class: "then who?"
We continue until everyone has had a turn.
