Mom and Me Party


Please join us during the last 40 minutes of class on
WEDNESDAY, May 7 and
THURSDAY, May 8
for a special program the kids are going special for their moms!

PICTURE DAY


We will be having our class pictures and individual pictures on Wednesday and Thursday of this next week.

Kids going into kindergarten will also get an optional cap and gown picture taken

VOWELS

We are continuing our studies this week on vowels.
Our main vowels of the week are:

Monday/Tuesday: Ee (including short and long sounds)
Wednesday/Thursday: Ii (including short and long sounds)

We are learning a fun vowel song at school.. be sure to ask your kids to sing it to you!

During this next week we are going to be exploring outer space!
We will be discussing stars, the sun, plantes, and the best of all EARTH.

APRIL 21- 25 Homework



This week we have a special homework to work on all the zoo phonics.

During class the kids will receive a packet with the zoo phonics cards that can be used at home.

These will not be required to be turned in - mainly just for your benefit at home.

Also - the kids will receive an envelope. Please help your child write their address onto the envelope and place a stamp on it.

During our Mail Person (community Helpers center) the kids will be able to mail a letter to themselves.

Hard Working Vowels


APRIL 21-25
This week we are beginning our unit on "Hard Working Vowels". Because the vowels are always working over time we have a special unit just tofocus our studies on them.
A fun song to help your kids to remember the vowels is:

ZOO WEEK!!
We are taking our zoo field trip on Wednesday, April 16. We will be meeting at the Phoenix zoo at 9:30 am.

NEW HOMEWORK!!!



Our New Homework for this month will be
"Read to me, Talk with me"

Each class will be taking home one of the Group Books that we have read during the year.

Those who wish to participate please take a book packet on the check-in table. Please be sure to sign it out on the homework check-out clip board. You will then return it on Wednesday or Thursday.

I hope the kids enjoy some thing new for homework!!

Center Activities


Changes from Winter to Spring- We will be doing a group discussion on the changes that happen between winter and spring. We will also be going on a nature walk to see the changes around us outside.

Shapely Kites




Kite flying is one of the beloved spring activities. So we are going to go on a kite hunt around our classroom. Each kite will be a different color and shape. The kids will all return with their kite that they found and identify what the shape and color is.




PRE-K Reading and Sight Words


This week we will be reviewing all of our sight words that we have learned through out the year.

We will be identifying the process of reading by understanding we put a space between each word and identifying where the sentence ends.

We will also be playing Sight Word Bingo!


High Flying Numbers

Children will find a kite with a certain number on it. They will then add bows to the kite that match the same number.


Writing
We will be writing a page on "If I were a kite on a windy day, I would fly away to..."
I will help them finish the page along with encouraging them to use their imaginations to think of a fun place that they would fly to.

Clever Lions Pirate Day










Our Clever Lions class had so much fun! On the top is our class picture all dressed up. The middle picture is the kids floating their ships that they made. The last picture on the right is the kids and their treasure. We went on a treasure hunt with a map that they had to follow. They all worked hard to find the letter X for their treasure. What a fun day!!

X marks the spot - Calling all Pirates!!



Welcome Back Me Mateys!
I hope everybody had a great spring break!!! I'm excited to have everybody back.
We have a fun filled week ahead - we have reached the letter "X" in our alphabet and as we all know... X marks the spot for the pirate treasure.
That's right!!! Our preschool has been taken over by pirates. We have a fun filled week ahead with all kinds of Pirate fun. Be sure to read all the notes to make sure your child is prepared!!

PIRATE DAY


On Wednesday and Thursday we will be having a PIRATE DAY!!!

Be sure to have your little ones come dressed as a pirate!!!

We will also be making pirates ships with water bottles, so please bring in a water bottle (with the label removed) to school on that day.

The kids will have lots of fun making their own pirate ships along with going on a real treasure hunt with their very own treasure map. It will for sure be a memorable day for all the kids!!!

Pirate Ship Colors

Our Pirate Ships Colors game is a fun way to recognize color names.
All around our class we will have pirates ships of different colors. I will hold up a color word and all the kids have to go to the ship of that same color.


TREASURE CHEST COUNTING COINS-

We have a very fun center game this week for our Pirate theme!
We have hidden around the room treasure maps and treasure chests. The only problem is that they are all mixed up!
The kids will have to count the coins in each treasure chest and find the correct map that it goes with.

Q & U Wedding


I know I'm a little bit behind, but I wanted to add in the photo's of the Q and U wedding.

The kids had SO MUCH FUN!!!

I hope this was a fun day to help them to always remember that "Q loves U".

Valentines Day Party


We had a great time with our Valentines Day Party!

The kids were so excited to just hand out all their cards to their friends... they really

didn't even expect anything in return. They were so excited when they figured out they got cards and candy from the other kids as well!
